The Wilmington Symphony presents Symphony Pops! on Saturday, March 24, 7:30 p.m. at Wilson Center featuring national touring act Spectrum: A Tribute to Motown and R&B.  Las Vegas super-group Spectrum recreates the style and sounds of the greatest Motown, classic soul and R & B groups of the 50's, 60's and 70's. Re-live the musical magic of The Temptations, The Isley Brothers, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson,  Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, the Spinners, and more!

The members of Spectrum consist of E. C. Adams, exciting entertainer from Vicksburg, Mississippi, Chicago-born musician and versatile performer Pierre Jovan, David Prescott the silky-smooth, soaring-voiced first tenor from Rochester, New York and lastly, singer, show producer and group founder Cushney Roberts, from East Orange, New Jersey, who left the life of a Princeton-educated corporate engineer and cut his teeth in the casino lounges in route to becoming a well-respected Las Vegas showroom entertainer.

When asked what it's like performing with an orchestra, founder Cushney Roberts said, "It is a particular thrill for the singers, musicians and audiences to perform and hear this iconic music with full orchestration.  Many of the originals had full orchestra accompaniment but we have paid particular attention to enhancing the arrangements to make them fun and interesting for the orchestra musicians to play and for the conductors to conduct, without distorting the original intent or feel of the songs."

Pre-concert entertainment will be provided by Shades of Grey, a Leland based doo-wop group, singing classic songs of the 50's and 60's, with a heavy New York influence.  Festivities begin in the lobby at 6:30pm.

Single tickets are $40, $55 & $65 (plus CFCC fees and NC sales tax) for adults.  For tickets call Ticket Central at 910-362-7999 or order online HERE.  Group rates are available for 10 or more tickets.
