History to Hip Hop

Support The Port Foundation, Inc. has partnered up with Cape Fear Community College's Nixon Minority Male Leaders Program to bring the students of Cape Fear and citizens of Wilmington "History to Hip Hop" a Screening and Live reading of "Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhyme" A documentary about a fan of hip-hop discussing the music's problems with homophobia, violence, masculinity and sexism. and a Reading of Support the Port's "Wilmington in Color" a coloring book highlighting the historical achievements and contributions of the African American population here in Wilmington.  This will take place at the Nixon Minority Male Leadership Center located on Cape Fear Community College's downtown site in the new Union Station building in room 152.  Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.
